1 – 31 December 1943 GALSTON.

Training as per Appendices 44 to 49. See Appendices 44 – 49 attached to the War Diary. These Appendices were either missing from the War Diary file at Kew or were not photographed during the research visit.

During the month Platoons have been affiliated to their respective Infantry Battalions for Combined Operations Training at ROTHESAY, and took part in Exercise KILBRIDE BAY, BLINDMANS BAY and MILLHOUSES.

Platoons also carried out Assault Training with Companies of their Infantry Battalions at the 49 Division Assault School at SHERIFF MUIR near DUNBLANE. When NOT with Battalion Groups or Infantry Companies, Platoons have carried out all necessary repairs to defences at KILBRIDE BAY etc and have laid all mines and Booby Traps required.

Company HQ remained at LOUDOUN CASTLE where Light Aid Detachment and Drivers carried our repairs and maintenance to vehicles. Company vehicles had been used without much rest on so many Exercises and other works over rough country for so long that a rest was necessary.

Lieutenant Gander was posted to the Unit on 20th November 1943 and posted from the Company with effect from 26 December 1943 to 19 C.R.E. Works.

Company came under command 147 Infantry Brigade with effect from 13 December 1943.
