INTRODUCTION
The Brigade spent from October 1940 to December 1941 as a key part of the Iceland Garrison, defending Reykjavik and the Western Coast from possible invasion, and training hard in difficult conditions.
There was one significant move of locations during their stay on the island, to reflect a change in Brigade responsibilities within Iceland Force, or Alabaster Force, and this is reflected in the list below of the places in which Units were based - often in Platoon-sized bases, or even in Section Posts, such as Skagastrond.
The details of which Units were based in which locations are included in the Section on the Iceland Garrison Which can be read here.
The pages on the individual places are listed below and should be followed to view the relevant photographs and background information on these locations:-
Blonduos - this includes the Blonduos Cemetery.
LAMBTON CAMP at Reykir.
