2nd January 1942 LLANELLY.
The Commanding Officer went on disembarkation leave and Major K.K. Walmsley assumed command of the Battalion.
6th January 1942
Personnel who had gone on leave direct from “SS SOBIESKI” at Greenock returned from leave.
8th January 1942
The remaining 20% of the Battalion who had not had leave, left for fourteen days’ disembarkation leave.
9th January 1942
Seven 15cwt trucks arrived from ICELAND.
12th January 1942
General Sir James H. Marshall-Cornwall K.C.B., C.B.E., D.S.O., M.C. Commander-in-Chief, Western Command, visited Battalion HQ on his way to CARMARTHEN.
13th January 1942
The heavy baggage from “SS BOLSTA” arrived at LLANELLY by rail.
14th January 1942
The Leave Party which went on disembarkation leave on 31st December 1941 returned to LLANELLY.
15th January 1942
Major K.K. Walmsley went on disembarkation leave and Major W.L. McGregor assumed command of the Battalion.
17th January 1942
Major McGregor inspected billets at the Drill Hall, Furnace Camp and Pembrey House.
20th January 1942
The Commanding Officer returned from leave and resumed command of the Battalion. Major McGregor remained at Battalion HQ as second-in-command.
22nd January 1942
The final Leave Party returned. The Commanding Officer visited A Company area and Pembrey House.
24th January 1942
Major R.H.C. Drummond-Wolff joined the Battalion and was taken on the strength.
25th January 1942
Major McGregor resumed command of A Company.
26th January 1942
Lieuts Dempster, Armstrong and Whitehead rejoined the unit after a course at the Specialist Training School, Iceland.
27th January 1942
Captain J.R. Alexander assumed command of B Company.
Captain Parker assumed the duties of second-in-command of B Company.
Captain Calderwood assumed command of 4 Platoon and Lieut Salisbury assumed the duties of Signals Officer.
29th January 1942
Major K.K. Walmsley returned from leave.
