2nd Battalion, Princess Louise's Kensington Regiment War Diary - March 1943
1 March 1943 Llantwit Major, S Wales.
Part of the Battalion took part in Exercise “Spartan” commencing 28th February and terminating 15th March. Battalion HQ operated on the Exercise as 49 Division Administrative HQ.
A party of approximately 100 men under the command of Major R E N D’Abo formed the “Dayboy Force” employed in a deceptive role in the Division.
One M.G. Platoon from E, f, and H Companies took part with their respective Brigade Groups.
The weather was extremely good throughout the Exercise which, however, apart from this, was extremely “SPARTAN”.
5 March 1943
2/Lt Cole-Powney posted from 164 OCTU to duty with F Company.
8 March 1943
Lt Miller posted to 4th Battalion Parachute Regiment, Airborne Forces, Hardwick, Chesterfield.
10 March 1943
Acting Major Paterson promoted Temporary Major with effect from 4 April 1943.
15 March 1943
Those taking part in Exercise “SPARTAN” returned to the Battalion.
18 March 1943
Major Brittain RAMC attached vice Lt Tweedy posted to 160 Field Ambulance.
20 March 1943
Captain Lovibond promoted Acting Major with effect from 3rd February 1943.
Captain Thomas promoted Acting Captain with effect from 27th February 1943.
26 March 1943

The Battalion saw the film “Desert Victory” at Barry.
31 March 1943
