1 January 1940 – Burford

1st Part II Orders published on behalf of 33rd Field Hygiene Section by Officer Commanding 22nd Field Hygiene Section.

13 January 1940 – Burford

Part II Order by Officer Commanding 22nd Field Hygiene Section posting 1 Staff Sergeant (S/Sergeant Barratt W. 73470780) 1 Corporal (Cpl Walker J 7343431) and eighteen Privates to EAGLESCLIFFE – (Stockton-on-Tees) as forming the 33rd Field Hygiene Section R.A.M.C. and attaching them for all purposes to the 186th Field Ambulance R.A.M.C. The unit then became part of the 23rd Northumbrian Division.

14 January 1940 – Eaglescliffe

Unit at Eaglescliffe carrying out R.A.M.C. Training with 186 Field Ambulance.

20 to 27 January 1940 – Eaglescliffe

Captain G A W Neill RAMC posted by UnderSecretary of State (A.M.D.1) from Royal Army Medical College, Millbank for duties as Officer Commanding unit and to report to unit at Burford. He reported to 50th (Northumbrian) Division at Burford and was ordered to proceed to Eaglescliffe. Weather conditions were severe and journey by road and rail occupied three days on account of snow.

30 January 1940 – Eaglescliffe

Captain G A W Neill assumed command of unit after reporting to Assistant Director of Medical Services 23rd Division.

31 January 1940

First training programme prepared.
