33rd Field Hygiene Section War Diary - June 1940

1 June 1940 – Aldershot.

At Boyce Barracks, Aldershot during which time some 10 Other Ranks reported while information was received that a further indefinite number were in England.

2 June 1940

Orders received for all 23rd Division Units to reform at LAUNCESTON, Cornwall.

3 June 1940

Members of Unit proceeded by rail to LAUNCESTON arriving at 19:30 hours and were installed at Penny Gillam Camp.

4 – 10 June 1940 – Launceston.

Unit at rest and reforming - by latter date all personnel had reported. Disembarkation leave commenced.

10 – 21 June 1940

Unit carried out duties for 23rd Division at LAUNCESTON.

22 June 1940

Orders received to proceed to OKEHAMPTON.

24 June 1940

Unit moved to OKEHAMPTON to carry out sanitary duties for 70th Infantry Brigade and to operate South Western Area Millbank Disinfestor.

24 – 29 June 1940

As above.

30 June 1940

Formal notification of disbandment of 23rd (N) Division.
