07:30 hours. Force Signal Exercise. 10 M.P’s engaged as Despatch Riders.
5 August 1941
07:30 hours. Force Signal Exercise continued.
14:00 hours. Company Part I Orders Nos. 172 – 177 issued and filed with War Diary as Appendix (document has not survived in the original file).
6 August 1941
14:00 hours. American convoy arrived in Reykjavik Harbour carrying USA Army personnel. CMP Docks Section increased for the purpose of carrying out supervision of unloading, Docks security, traffic control etc.
7 August 1941
06:00 hours. Continued unloading of American ships entailing additional duties.
8 August 1941
06:00 hours. CMP Road Patrol Section increased with a view to reducing the considerable number of traffic accidents and motoring offences.
9 August 1941
Additional duties continued by Docks Section and Road Patrol Section.
11 August 1941
08:30 hours. 2 NCOs on Refresher Course commenced at Mytchett Camp.
12:00 hours. Leave party returned from UK.
21:00 hours. New leave party embarked for UK.
15 August 1941
09:00 hours. Company Part I Orders Nos. 178 – 185 issued and filed with Appendix A to the War Diary (which did not survive in the original file).
16 August 1941
08:30 hours. 72 Military Police on special duties in connection with the visit to Reykjavik of the Prime Minister of England, Mr Winston Churchill, Lt Franklin Delano Roosevelt and other distinguished visitors. Military Policemen engaged from 08:30 hours until 18:00 hours as Outriders, Traffic Pointmen on route, control of crowd at Docks, Saluting Base etc car parking and security measures.
17 August 1941
10:00 hours. Company Part I Orders Nos. 186 and 187 issued and included in Appendix A.
20 August 1941
10:00 hours. Company Part I Orders Nos. 188 to 195 issued and included in Appendix A.
24 August 1941
10:00 hours. Company Part I Orders Nos. 196 to 212 issued and included in Appendix A.
29 August 1941
13:00 hours. Military Police escort provided for German Prisoners of War landed at Reykjavik by Royal Navy. Extra guard provided at Military Prison and Detention Barracks and at 50th General Hospital where injured Prisoners were detained.
30 August 1941
07:00 hours. Further German Prisoners of War escorted by Military Police from Reykjavik Docks to Iceland ( C) Force Detention Barracks.
10:00 hours. Company Part I Orders Nos. 213 to 225 issued and included in Appendix A (document did not apparently survive in the original file).
