Died/Killed in action Died - possibly of the wounds suffered in a Battle Accident - 7/12/1944. Buried in Turnhout Communal Cemetery, Row 2 Grave 8. Headstone inscription reads "COMPASSIONATE LORD JESUS, GIVE REST TO HIS SOUL. MAY HE REST IN PEACE. AMEN". There is no mention in CWGC records of any temporary interment.
Home address Son of William and Mary Bradshaw of Haydock, Lancashire. Husband of Edith M. Bradshaw (Married Edith M. Smith at St. Helens, Lancashire, July 1943).

Some information on this Page has been extracted from the Commemorative Booklet, prepared by Major Langley, covering the period from D-Day to VE Day in addition to that extracted from the War Diaries. There are issues around the possible duplication of names which remain to be clarified.
In this case, the Booklet does not list Sapper Bradshaw as a fatal casualty, although he is mentioned as having been wounded in a Battle Accident. It is not known whether this contributed to his death, though it does seem likely, given no other reference.
