Charles Ernest worked as a Railway Signalman. Charles Ernest was mentioned as an Executor of his father's Will, following the granting of Probate on 27/9/1957. The marriage of Charles Ernest to Hilda M Waters is reported in the Daily Gazette for Middlesbrough of 7/10/1939. The report stated that Charles Ernest was currently serving with the DLI, and had been a bell-ringer at the Parish Church in Barnard Castle, while his wife had been the organist at Woodlands Parish Church for some years.
