Died/Killed in action DIED 31/7/1943 - cause of death Cholera. Interred Grave 4 - at Kanu River Camp No. 1 Cemetery. Re-interred 17/3/1946 in Grave 8.J.4. Kanchanaburi War Cemetery. Headstone inscription reads:- "NOT LOST BUT GONE BEFORE. REMEMBERED ALWAYS. MOTHER AND ALL AT HOME".
Home address Son of William Foreman Stayman and Jane Singleton Stayman (nee Graham) of North Shields, Northumberland. At the time of the 1911 Census the family were living in 4 Lawson Street, North Shields. At the time of the 1939 General Register William was working as a Shipyard Labourer. Father died in 1940. Mother lived at 4, Tennyson Terrace, North Shields.
