1 March 1944 Ashman’s Hall, BECCLES.

Company commenced moving remainder of Bailey Bridging from HALESWORTH to Ashman’s Hall Dump.

3 March 1944

Whole Company on Fritton Range. Weather fine but cold. Results fair.

4 March 1944

Conservancy. Half day.

5 March 1944

10:30 hours. Company Church Parade. Half day.

6 March 1944

Officer Commanding returned from leave. Finished moving Bailey.

7 to 17 March 1944

1 and 2 Platoons proceed on 10 days’ leave. Remainder of Company employed on Company duties.

18 March 1944

Conservancy and half day.

19 March 1944

Company Soccer Match versus 289 Field Park Company – we won 5 – 1.

20 March 1944

Company practising Mine laying and Gapping Drills.

22 March 1944

Received instruction in the use of “STELLAR” Purification Plant.

23 March 1944

Company on FRITTON RANGE – using No. 4 rifles – results better than on 3rd March.

24 March 1944

Company practising Minelaying and Gapping at night.

25 March 1944

Conservancy and half day.

26 March 1944

Company Soccer versus 294 Field Company Royal Engineers. We won 4 – 1.

27 March 1944

Company training as for 24th March.

28 March 1944

1 Platoon commenced work on road from Southwold to FRASER BRIDGE.

All Officers and NCOs (Senior) to lecture on Airfield Recces.

3 Platoon proceeded on 10 days’ leave.

29 – 31 March 1944

Company on Southwold Road and practising 70 foot Double Single Bailey.
